WIC 2010 dates
announced

WMMA announced the dates for the Woodworking Industry Conference 2010 will be April 21-24. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey, Calif. See wmma.org.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association recently announced its support for federal legislation S.1660. The legislation would make the CARB controls on formaldehyde emissions from particleboard, hardwood plywood and medium density fiberboard panels a national standard.

KCMA also announced support for efforts in Congress to have the National

Academy of Sciences review the health effects of formaldehyde, specifically the low levels of formaldehyde normally found in domestically manufactured cabinets.

KCMA’s Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) began recognizing

CARB compliant materials earlier this year, and there are now over 150 companies and brands listed on the program’s Web site.

Ohio. Microvellum Corp., specializing in design software, made an in-kind donation valued at $102,000.

Instructors plan to have students use the router in projects including a remodel of the Family and Consumer Science lab and designing Arts and Crafts style tables.
